Hanoi is a city to be visited and Golden Silk Hotel is a great, budget friendly but higher end and clean place to experience it. When you go look up Quynh! She is so pleasant and will make sure you’re stay goes smoothly. She is your advocate for a great holiday in Hanoi. Bed is so comfy. Enjoyed the positive attitude of the staff and their help to get a package I sent prior to me. Great job! Thank you!!

Great location but most economy rooms are windowless, check before you book. Most rooms have showers inside the bathtub so if you’re going with elderly relatives, make sure you ask for a walk in shower room. Strong AC, okay breakfast. Right in the heart of Hanoi’s Old City and a short walk to the lake.

This is a small, cozy hotel located in the heart of Hanoi’s bustling Old Quarter, an area that serves as a magnet for foreign tourists. The hotel’s location makes it possible to easily explore the entire Old Quarter, including its famous lake. The hotel may be aging but the staff are more than willing to address any deficiency. For example, Loan (Tracy), the very efficient front office manager, promptly had the shower head replaced in my room when I complained about a leaky shower. The receptionists are first rate, including Danielle and Quynh. Quynh went out of her way to help me out, including fixing my local cellular connection and stitching up a button on my jacket that was about to fall out! For any assistance, I could count on Quynh, who is just 22 years old and looks even younger than that! The breakfast at the hotel is decent.

I love staying at Golden Silk and have been several times. For tourists it's a great location as it's an easy walk to so many of the major tourist attractions in Old Town. Hoan Kiem lake is a hop, skip and a jump (be sure to go to the lake on the weekend, especially at night, when the roads around are closed and families are out en masse - but avoid New Year's Eve). It's on the southern fringe of the main Old Town section. Hang Gai is full of great attractions (if you can find the secret cafe that overlooks the lake and try the egg coffee -- this is one of the few cafes that can claim it originated there). The staff is friendly and willing to help whenever they can. Be sure to ask for Loan - she is full of advice and can assist with just about anything. I love their breakfast buffet - they have lovely Pho (both chicken and beef) and about any other breakfast you might want. Rooms are comfortable, and relatively quiet. Would ask for one that doesn't front the street, though. Around the corner is my favorite tailor - Ayarushi, 38 Hang Trong - if they don't have it, they'll make it for you at a reasonable price, and within a couple days.

The hotel restaurant/bar was very good! The bartenders Long and Dat were awesome and professional, would 100% recommend. Drinks very delicious and lovely atmosphere:) Food was good. Price was good and there's a good happy hour package;)
